Syllabus A syllabus may be provided by the instructor. Auditing a Course Learning for Living Academy (LLA) What do I need to know? • Auditing a course allows a student to take a course without benefit of a grade or credit for a course. A student who audits a course does so for the sole purposes of self- enrichment and academic exploration. • Audit courses carry no academic, credit or non-credit value, do not fulfill degree requirements, and are not eligible for articulation at a later date. • Permission to audit a course entitles the student to attend class. Students do not hand in assignments, take part in discussions, or receive evaluations. • Auditors are permitted only when space is available. An instructor or director may refuse any request to audit a course. • Students must abide by all rules as published in the TVCC catalog. For information about auditing a class, please contact TVCC’s Adult & Continuing Education (ACE) department either by email ContEd@tvcc.edu or by phone 903-675-6212. Course Grades, Attendance, and Transcript Access Instructors will assign a numerical grade*(except as noted below) on the grade sheet for all Adult & Continuing Education classes as follows: • P= Pass • NC= non-Complete (student dropped or withdrew) The instructor has the right to assign a grade based on the performance of the student. Attendance and class participation may be taken into consideration when grades are assigned. A “NC” is assigned, if applicable. Students are expected to attend all classes, labs, and clinicals required of a course. To pass the class and receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs), students must attend at least 80% of the course instruction. Students that stop attending class and have not completed enough class time to qualify for a passing grade will receive an "NC".
