TUITION • ADMISSION • TESTING Trinity Valley Community College maintains an open door admission policy. All students must comply with Texas Success Initiative (TSI) policies. BEGINNING FRESHMEN All applicants must submit a completed Application for Admission form or apply online at www.tvcc.edu/GetStarted. The following additional requirements must be met before admission is approved: • Graduation from high school; or • A notarized record of the high school equivalent work completed and the date of successful completion or satisfactory completion of the General Educational Development Test (GED); and, • Individual approval by the Academic Advising Office.

Beginning freshmen students must have, prior to registration, the following information on file in the TVCC Admission’s Office : • A completed Application for Admission • An official transcript of high school grades and credits or GED transcript with date of graduation or completion • Results from the official Texas Success Initiativetest (TSI Assessment); unless the student is exempt based on TAKS, STAAR, ACT or SAT scores. • Proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination that is not more than five years old (students over 22 are not required to have this vaccine)

TRANSFER STUDENTS Students who have previously attended other accredited colleges must submit an official transcript of grades and credits from all colleges previously attended.

EARLY ENROLLMENT of high school students

High school students may enroll in academic transfer and/or technical/workforce dual credit courses once they have met the

following requirements:

 received permission from their parent/guardian and high school counselor;  completed all TVCC admissions requirements and prerequisites for courses they wish to take;  met the Texas Success Initiative Assessment-2 (TSI) requirements;  completed all required placement tests prior to enrollment. 2021-2022 TUITION (basedon12semesterhours)

PROGRAMS & DEGREES CHOOSE A PATH

Students who pursue the Associate of Arts (A.A.) Degree at TVCC enroll in university-parallel or pre-professional courses which transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Upon completing the degree, TVCC students transfer with juniorclass status. TVCC offers a broad range of technical and vocational programs leading to a one-year Certificate of Completion or two-year Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree. These programs are designed to prepare students to enter and compete inthe occupational job market. The Continuing &Workforce Education department provides an array of non- creditcourses for personal enrichment. The Adult Education and Literacy programs are funded by Texas Workforce Commission. FINANCIAL AID, SCHOLARSHIPS & VETERANS The educational opportunities of capable students should not be limited by theirfinancial resources. TVCC offers financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and college work-study. Details are available from the Financial Aid Office. TVCC offers scholarships (need-based and non-need-based). State and federalaid in the form of grants, loans and college work-study is awarded based on anassessment of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). HOUSING/CAMPUSES Trinity Valley Community College provides housing on the Athens campus. Each residence hall is conveniently located near classrooms, cafeteria, library and thestudent center. Each residence hall has an adult director in residence. Only full-time students are eligible for housing in the TVCC residence halls. Roomsare rented on a double occupancy basis with semi-private bathrooms and are furnished with two of each: beds, chests, desks and chairs. TVCC also provides internet access to each student, as well as a cable hook-up in each room. Students are required to bring bed linens, pillows, towels, etc. Room and board packages include room rent, meal plan and tax. Each residence hall resident is required to have a meal plan. ATHLETICS TVCC is a member of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference and the Region XIV Athletic Conference. Teams for men participate in conferencecompetition in football and basketball; women participate in conference competition in basketball, softball and volleyball. Cardinal Cheerleaders not onlysupport the athletic teams, but are one of the top competitive cheer teams in the nation. Rodeo is a competitive club, competing in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, Southern Region. Each team offers numerous scholarships for qualified student athletes. PERFORMING GROUPS/FINE ARTS CARDETTES Trinity Valley Community College Cardettes are a unique dance/drill team. Theyserve as ambassadors of the college and travel throughout Texas, the United States and internationally. Cardettes entertain at Cardinal football and basketball games, area and state parades, host a spring production, engage in area community service projects andtravel to exciting places to share their dance talents. The Cardettes have also won numerous awards at dance competitions, including the national champion title atthe Dance Team Union College Nationals in 2019. MUSIC Trinity Valley Community College offers an Associate of Arts degree with a field of study in music. Students may pursue either an associate degree focusing on music or may take elective music lessons without pursuing a music-related degree. Musicstudies at TVCC offer students the opportunity to receive individual instruction in all major performance areas. Students are afforded numerous performance opportunities within the scopeof our music ensembles: Cardinal Singers, Chamber Singers, Encore, Cardinal Regiment Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Woodwind Ensemble,Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. THEATRE Whether you plan to go into professional theatre, want to teach theatre, or love the art, the two-year theatre degree program at TVCC offers a hands-on training program, in which students gain theoretical and practical experience through bothcoursework and the award-winning theatre company, The Crimson Players. VISUAL ARTS The TVCC Art Department offers several basic studio classes as well as core art history and art appreciation classes. The Athens campus houses a ceramics studio,a two dimensional studio and a lecture room.

Campus Life TVCC provides a variety of student clubs and organizations and ways to be involved, based on academic or special interests. The TVCC Advocacy Resource Center, located in the Student Union Building on the Athens campus, is open to all current TVCC students, regardless of financial status and provides easy access to supplemental food, clothing and other necessities. The Advocacy Resource Center is open every Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the academic year, and closed on weekends and holidays.

Enrollment System-wide, TVCC enrolls approximately 7,000 students from 23 states and 21 foreign countries. However, the majority of our students are Texas residents. Forty- one percent of students are enrolled full time.
